Some have noticed that Head Contact is allowed in the State Games for younger students including color belts.
I have heard some Instructors are telling their students to just enter Form and possibly Breaking. Shsould you have students that wish to FIGHT please explain to them this is an “open” tournament. That means just not TPTKD students but from any TKD class in Michigan. The Directors are trying to get the State Games closer in line with the National State Games and with the WTF rules.
The students coming from other schools are coming to win. They do not care about the other competitors. Our Judges and Referees are to keep control over the rings and, at their best, try and not have any “accidents”.
